CPC 2024, Kelowna, BC
Dec 3, 2024 Having recently returned again from Antarctica in February 2024, I gave lectures on Antarctica to the CAPA biannual CPC, held in Kelowna June 25-27, 2024.
Through the use of AV show stills & video, large fine art prints, and recently published fine art photo books, I outlined some of the amazing photo opportunities that can be found in the southern hemisphere of the planet below 60 deg S latitude. This included material from the Falklands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Archipelago.
Tips on the logistsics of planning a trip to this special part of the world were also provided.
The dramatic impact of the Bird Flu on tourism to the area, particularly South Georgia, was also emphasized.
